Homecoming

Our BYU Homecoming day started off pretty early at 8:30 am (that's really early for a Saturday). Brian's coach required all of the long distance guys to run the 5k that BYU always puts on during Homecoming, the Cougar Run. So I got to wake up bright and early to go over to the track and stand there freezing. Since Brian didn't want to pay the money ($15) to be an actual participant, he just started with all the runners and stopped right before the finish line. So I only got starting pictures of him running...

Brian and Kyle after the race. Our friend Kyle, who was a national champion in track last year, is now a professional runner so he ran it and won the $150 dollars.

Brian and I (he has his eyes closed but its the only one we got)

After that we headed to the Smith Field House to print off the tickets that Marah had emailed to us for the TCU game. Brian can sometimes get into games for free since he is an athlete but this one was sold out so we both had to get tickets. Luckily, Marah and some of her friends went to Zion's so they gave us their tickets for free! Unfortunately I was stupid and failed to make sure that the tickets were actually attached. So we ended up only having one ticket. After I was mad at myself for a while we finally got another ticket from Kado (Brian's roommate).

Before the game we went to Brick Oven with Brian's MTC friend Jake and his wife Sabra. Jake's Dad, sister and brother-in-law (Emily and Bush) also came along. I love Brick Oven, they have the best pizza and root beer.

After that we carpooled to the game. It was quite funny. We found out that there is scooter and motorcycle parking right next to the stadium. Plus when you are on a scooter you can weave in and out of traffic and never get stuck in lines. So Brian drove my scooter and Jake drove his motorcycle. They first dropped Sabra and I off. Then drove back and picked up Emily and Bush. Then Brian was sent to go pick up Jake's dad. Which was HILARIOUS! My scooter is pink which is funny enough when you see two guys on it... but throw in the fact the Jake's dad is a big guy... makes it even funnier. Dave had fun though and enjoyed all the cat calls he got.

Our seats were actually pretty decent (21st row in the endzone) and we were really excited when BYU stopped TCU pretty hard on the first play. I turned to Emily and told her that we might actually have a pretty decent game... I am pretty sure I must have cursed the game... I should have knocked on wood or something. Cuz BOY WAS I WRONG. The game was terrible. I was soo embarrassed, especially since it was supposed to be the best game of the week. We left early because we wanted to beat the crowd and I was just getting mad, haha.

BYU setting up for another terrible drive, haha

Trying to be happy even though BYU is losing

Happy cuz we are leaving the game

So we did our little carpooling thing again and then headed over to get some more food at Red Robin. After Red Robin we were still awake and ready to do stuff. So we went and bought some GINORMOUS pumpkins, seriously they were so big that the scale wouldn't work. So they just let us buy them for 5 dollars each (which is how much the 30 lb ones cost which is the highest the scale can read) and we rented "Land of the Lost". I barely watched the movie cuz I was having so much fun with the pumpkins. They didn't end up turning out so well just because they were sooo thick and hard. But we still had fun. I forgot to take pictures of the pumpkins, but we carved more later and they turned out much better. I'll post those in the next post. :-)

I think you left the game about the time your dad quit listening because he was getting SO frustrated!
